NewCoffee GmbH & Co. oHG in Germany has recently introduced a product called COFFEE³ for small households produced on a new state-of-the-art packaging line.
The new product introduction is a result from the cooperation between NewCoffee and Stora Enso, who provides the paperboard material, and German machine suppliers Hörauf and Optima. The solution is called InlineCan, which is a packaging solution that looks like a metal can but is actually made from liquid packaging board with a high-barrier coating for maximum protection and aroma seal. InlineCan is also suitable for other dry food packaging such as instant drinks, baby milk powder, nuts and snacks and many more.

"The customer wanted to have a new, reclosable packaging for a premium roast and ground coffee, which would meet the demands of small households, to replace the old, non-reclosable vacuum brick pack," says Martin Hammer, New Business Development Manager for Food at Stora Enso Consumer Board division. "NewCoffee together with Stora Enso, Hörauf and Optima came up with a paperboard packaging solution that provides enhanced brand communications, packaging performance and reduced logistics."

COFFEE³ is sold by food retailer ALDI Süd as part of their premium coffee sortiment and will be sold to other customers as well. The high-quality impression of the product is reflected and strengthened by the innovative and outstanding packaging design and material, which is also food-safe and tight to preserve the original taste and aroma of coffee. The package size, containing 250 g of ground coffee, has been adapted to small or single households. Reclosability of the package is highly appreciated by consumers.NewCoffee GmbH & Co. oHG in Germany has recently introduced a product called COFFEE³ for small households produced on a new state-of-the-art packaging line.
