Actions taken to fight child labour in Pakistan

The Annual General Meeting (AGM) in Helsinkirecently was filmed. So now you can watch the part where CEO Jouko Karvinen together with Ambreen Waheed, head of Global Responsibility at Bulleh Shah, explain what has been done about the child labour issue in Pakistan.

During the AGM it was actually more than half an hour devoted to present what Stora Enso is doing within Global Responsibility and what measures have been taken to fight child labour in the supply chain at Bulleh Shah.

Among other things, contracts with three suppliers have been terminated while the rest have committed to the code of conduct and Bulleh Shah is now helping the affected children and their families with financial support and education.

Here you can find the video from the AGM presentation. The part about Pakistan and Global Responsibility starts at 13:35 into the video and lasts for about 34 minutes.
