Stora Enso at drupa 2016 to show what a tree can do

Stora Enso is on a mission at drupa to show ‘What a tree can do’. The renewable materials company will provide an extensive display of paper, consumer board, and re-board offerings as well as eye-opening digital experiences.

“Our theme at drupa is ‘What a tree can do’. All our products are made of a renewable material – wood. We want to take you from paper and board-making to the marketplace and finally to how wastepaper is given a new life,” says Katariina Tanner, VP Marketing, Division Paper. “Print and packaging have amazing power in the retail environment and the design can help innovate and improve the customers’ experience. We are demonstrating this through eye tracking. We are also using Oculus Rift 3D video and google cardboard glasses to show paper and board-making as well as recycling from a new angle.”

Stora Enso’s consumer board offering caters for consumers’ and brand owners’ increasing environmental awareness and demand for sustainable packaging. “We are just about to start up a new, state-of-the-art board machine in Beihai, China. At drupa we are also celebrating the 20th anniversary of some of our most prominent board products, Performa and CKB, and presenting a number of new and unique packaging innovations as the outcome of our Recreate Packaging design contest,” says Jonas Pettersson, VP Product Management & Marketing, Stora Enso Carton Board.

Stora Enso papers and boards will be run on several printing presses at drupa. During the ‘Stora Enso hour’ daily at 1.30 pm, in the auditorium of hall 1, the company’s paper and packaging experts will give short presentations related to the topics demonstrated at the stand.
