The first tambour roll of AvantKraft Brown by Stora Enso was produced in October last year, so many customers have already had the opportunity to try the new products. The interest to see the production and learn more about the origin of the new kraftliners made customers come all the way from Latin America, South-East Asia, Middle East and Europe to Varkaus.“Customers came here to see the converted mill and how their products are produced using the natural raw material that surrounds the area. It was also a great opportunity for them to meet a lot of our people and feel the commitment from Stora Enso” says Timo Räsänen, VP Product Management, Packaging Solutions, Stora EnsoAppreciated mill tour including fish farm visitGilles van Nieuwenhuyzen, EVP Packaging Solutions, Stora Enso welcomed everyone to the event which was followed by presentations and a very appreciated mill tour including the rebuilt containerboard mill, the new LVL (Laminated Veneer Lumber) production lines and the rather exotic sturgeon fish farm co-located with the mill.“I appreciated the day a lot and was impressed by what Stora Enso has done in Varkaus.
