02/26/2015 Taking the lead in Falun 2015 Stora Enso Consumer Board’s guests were witnessing Charlotte Kalla’s overwhelming victory in the ladies 10 km ski race in Falun on Tuesday 24 February. With the expected 200,000 visitors and 500 million TV viewers, the FIS Nordic World Ski Championships in Falun are an important arena also for Stora Enso to meet guests and to present the company to the public. In connection of the ski competition, Stora Enso Consumer Board is organizing visits to its Fors Mill, which is currently preparing for a major new product introduction later this year as an outcome of the recent birch fibre investment at the mill. Stora Enso is contributing to the sustainability of Falun 2015 event in many ways. All the paperboard cups used at kiosks and restaurants on the arena are made of the renewable and recyclable Cupforma Natura board from Stora Enso Imatra Mills, while the official World Ski Championships gifts were packed in Performa White from Stora Enso Fors Mill. The World Championships organization and the race management work in a climate-smart wooden house built of Stora Enso’s cross-laminated timber (CLT). Stora Enso also helps to reduce carbon emissions of the event by delivering district heating and biofuel. “With our program and presence in Falun we want to give an insight into our innovations and latest product development, and we hope all our guests and visitors enjoy the competition and the entire program during the race week,” says Carin Stowe, Consumer Board Marketing Director.
